There is so much beauty in this world, and if only my fingers could put it to paper or canvas as my eyes see it...
I have cats, dogs, ferrets, chickens, cows and horses because I like animals, and I draw and paint wildlife and nature because that's what I like and enjoy. My pets bring me joy and laughter, and nature brings me peace and closeness to God. A quote from Anne Frank: "The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature."

ACEO - A Foggy Evening
This acrylic painting was of my horse Amber in the evening as the fog started coming in.
ACEO - Echinacea Summer
The Echninacea was flowering and a swallowtail butterfly was flitting from one plant to another, and in the background my Nankin cherries were ripening. This ACEO was done as an acrylic painting.
ACEO - Hot Blood
This horse was my first oil painting in 30 years, and I remembered I LIKE painting with oil.
ACEO - Meerkat: In Memory Of
Last summer at the Minnesota Zoo, a 9 year old girl climbed up onto a rock barrier and reached over a 4 ft. glass wall to try to pet a meerkat, and was bitten. Her parents refused to allow her to have rabies shots, and even though the meerkats had been vaccinated for rabies, the state Department of Health ordered the family of 2 adults and 3 babies destroyed for testing. Sad...
ACEO - Elephant Matron
This was an old Indian elephant giving rides at a Rennaisance festival. For most people this would be the closest they would ever get to an elephant, but it's kind of sad to watch.
ACEO - Leopard Cub
Another pen & ink drawing. I was watching a nature program about leopards, and this cub heard something and looked up. It was such an interesting pose
ACEO - Elephant At Rest
This is one of my pen and ink drawings. Elephants are one of God's most fascinating creations with their textures and stature. .
ACEO - Tag Along
The last time I was in Yellowstone was early enough to see the buffalo calves shortly after they were born, long legged and gangly babies.
ACEO - Slider
This is my son's cat. Don't ask me why he named him Slider; I don't know.
ACEO - Black Percheron
The Percheron is one of my favorite horses. The big blacks are magnificent!
ACEO - Buddies
My big dog is a cat magnet! For whatever reason they like to curl up to her, sleep with her, and annoy her by rubbing her face.
